English winter lessons

Last year, I was learning english thanks to the lessons I received two days a week until last june. This month I started the same system to improve my english, thinking, actually and in deep, in the defense of my doctoral thesis. So, despite the fact that I am very busy with my work and my lessons at the University, I know that  if I want to obtain the best  mark in the defense of my research then I need dominate the Shakespeare´s language.

During today´s lessons, I spoke about the summer and, in general, about my doctoral thesis so, the following days I will speak about the others specific issues one to one.

Today: a good day

This afternoon, I went to the University to teach Business Law to my new students. The group is too varied, there are new students and old ones and, this supposes a complex situation because you must teach in a interesting way to both, the new students with no knowledge about the matter and the old ones with a little knowledge about it and with a lot of possibilities to stay boring in the class.

The today news is the lesson was fantastic: They participated during the explications and they seemed interested about it.

For a teacher or, at least in my case, is very rewarding to feel that you are teaching something to someone. Is an inexplicable experience and it is fantastic in all case.


I can´t belive it: Obama obtains The Nobel Peace Prize

Today, the global press suffers a heart attack because a “bomb” news has exploited during the morning: Presidente Obama wins The Nobel Peace Prize in this 2009 edition.

In my opinion and despite Obama represents, according to an important group of people in the world, a new hope in the international political situation, however, there are a lot of good people hardworking day by day in favour miserable people, for example, in terrible conditions and, I believe that any of them deserve this prize rather than President Obama.

Probably, you are thinking that my thoughts are simple or demagogic but I believe that simple words hide big truths. The labour of President Obama is very important and more if we take in consideration the american influence in the world, but one thing is what  I just mention above and another is that kind of decision.

A days ago, I have discovered in El Corte Ingles a new product related to the fitness activity: the vibration platform.

I train every other day using an elliptical bycicle but, despite there are a lot of advantages in relation to this product, the new one (the vibration platform) surpasses it highly.

There are two types of vibration platform: the first is based in a rocking motion, while the second one is based in micro-impulses per second. The first is adecuated for elderly people and the second one for young people who are able to bear a stronger activity.

In my case and after examining all the posibilities, I prefer the second one and there are a lot of posibilities that I will go to buy one. I will inform to you about the result of this important decision …

First week at the University

This week, after the introductions realized along the last week, had been the first in the present course.
In my case, the subject that I ought to explain to the students is Business Law and the main problem with the same is the following. Let me explain it to you.

My students are in their first year at the University. All is new for them: the building, the professors, the partners, the subjects … A new phase in their lifes.

For me, observing them is a interesting practice and year by year the reactions are the same and in a major level if the subject is new in all its aspects: then they are lost.

Well, like I said, I’ll try to write about the progress of job in this course.

Get away

Here we have another phrasa verb. Today is get away.

We can use this phrasal verb when we want to say something like escape, flee.

Maybe an example should be more visual: “The robbers got away in a black car”,

Roman Polanski was arrested last saturday

The film Director Roman Polanski was arrested, in Switzerland, last saturday, thirty years after he escaped from USA when he was going to enter in prison.

All the european intellectual sector is blocked by this news, but I wonder if his reaction will be the same if the criminal is not a famous person.

This reaction, in my opinion is hypocrit and, despite that I can admit the talent of this film director, however it is true that he committed a legal fault and, as other people because the law is the same for everybody, he ought to pay and to bear the consecuences of his behaviour.
